Goals vs. Systems

Post Intention:
After talking about reviews this month and knowing that people will want to set new goals in the upcoming New Year, as operators, it is our job to remind them that while goal setting is important, it is best to set actionable goals– and systems can help people do just that.

Starter Copy:

As we head into the New Year, many of us will set new goals for ourselves.

Having goals is important because they give you something to aim for, but what’s even more important is having systems in place that will help you make progress towards those goals.

Without a system:
You can create impossible standards for yourself that set you up for disappointment
You might become too attached to a particular outcome instead of focusing on the process of reaching your goal.
If you don’t break your goal down into specific steps, it can be overwhelming and demotivating.

A system-first mentality means you’re falling in love with the process, not the product.

Systems encourage long-term thinking and are more than just accomplishing a single goal. It’s about maintaining a cycle of refinement and improvement.

No matter what business you’re in, having a system in place is what will help you succeed. But it’s not just enough to have a system – you need to commit to following the process and sticking to it.

That’s what will make the difference in your results.
